Yes, boy are we excited about this new BLOG ! So I did some research and was thinking if this is actually fun to BLOG his growth. Well I am not exactly the kind of person that write what I did on a day to day basis, but thinking along, might be pretty cool to share our experience with other friends and parent all over the world.

25 May 04 - The Day

The appointment with Dr Ellen Li was early in the morning, at 8.30 am, to be exact. I spoke to my hubby before I went to the clinic. The conversation calmed me down.
Dr Li is a Chinese gynae trained in US. She looks pretty young, married, with no kids. I told her about my symptoms and suspicion. She asked me to do a urine test.
Moments later, she presented the truth to me. "Congratulations! Ms Tan, you are 6-wks pregnant!"
OH YES!!! I am pregnant!!! Dr Li went on to explain the 'Dos' and 'Don'ts' about pregnancy to me but I just couldn't concentrate. My mind was busy with thoughts.... is my baby going to be a boy or girl.... where should I deliver....? Of course, right after the visit, the first person I called was my hubby. I wonder what was his first thought when I told him that he is going to be a father?

Pregnant or not?

I am currently working in Beijing.... have been here since Feb 02. No one accompanied me on my overseas posting. Nope, not even my hubby. So... you can imagine how lonely I could be. That's why, my hubby would fly here (Beijing) once a while to accompany me.
Our son was 'created' during his recent trip in early May..... we term it 'Mayday Action'.
The usual pregnancy symptoms surfaced.... missed period, tiredness, tender breasts and nausea. I brought a pregnancy kit to test. No double lines and I felt so sad. Well, it could be pre-menstruation symptoms.
A week later, my period still did not appear. Then, the pregnancy symptoms became more obvious (for eg, no matter how much I slept, I would still feel extremely tired). Again, I brought a pregnancy kit to test, keeping my finger crossed. Slowly and very faintly, the lines appeared. I was so nervous. Many thoughts ran in my mind. The first thing I am going to do tomorrow is to visit Dr Ellen Li at Beijing Vista Clinic.
