(I) (D)amn (E)xcited (N)ow

Yes, boy are we excited about this new BLOG ! So I did some research and was thinking if this is actually fun to BLOG his growth. Well I am not exactly the kind of person that write what I did on a day to day basis, but thinking along, might be pretty cool to share our experience with other friends and parent all over the world.

Baby Show 2005

To celebrate its anniversary, Toa Payoh West CC organised a baby show today. Iden participated in it. It was the first time that Iden is in a baby show. It was an eye-opener for him (and imama as well). The IT family reported to the CC, had Iden's weight taken and then proceeded for a check-up by a doctor from SGH. At this baby show, we met Shih Lin and baby Lucas. Perhaps they were curious with each other, both Iden and Lucas were caught starring at each other a few times. After the whole procedure, Iden was very tired. So tired that he could not resist the call of sleep. We went home after this so that he could take a nap. We went back to the CC at noon time to see the results. Iden did not win anything, however, his friend, Lucas got a consolation prize! Congrats to Lucas!

6 months old and still counting...

Iden turns 6 months old today. So fast! I thought I just delivered him not long ago. Time flies..... Just like what everyone says, babies grow up very fast. How true!
Here are some pictures to share on how Iden has developed through the months:
Iden when he is only 1 day old.
The picture on the extreme left was taken during his first month celebration while the one with him in blue was taken when he was 2 months old.

Iden is 3 months old on the left picture while the right picture shows a 4-month old baby.
Iden when he was 5 months old on the left picture while the right picture was taken earlier to mark his 6 months in this world.

To be able to witness Iden's growth each day is really exciting. I am enjoying each moment with him. Words cannot describe how I feel. Just wanna sing this song to him:

I love you forever; I like you as always; As long as I'm living; My baby you'll be.

Good night, my baby.

Destruction at the very best

I just settled Iden down and he is into his dream land now. He must be very tired after doing some vigorous exercises. Ever since he started to crawl, he has been crawling very hard everyday. The moment we put him down on the floor, he will start to crawl. He started off doing worm crawl and is now slowly turning into commando crawl. Well, he was doing his crawling exercise a while ago. Then, when he saw his papa with a keyboard and mouse, he started to 'chase' after them. ipapa tried to shake him off by moving around. However, Iden continued his chase. That was the first time he is into something so intensely.
After being harassed for some time, ipapa gave in and let Iden play with the keyboard. Upon seeing the keyboard, Iden was so excited and started to bang very hard at it! He seemed to 'hate' the keyboard very much that he hit on it, hard and fast. Then, all of a sudden, we noticed that the PC screen turned blank. Iden had amazingly shut down the PC simply by pressing some buttons! Both ipapa and I were shocked. Until now, we are still wondering how on earth he managed to do that. Hmm.... seems like a potential hacker is in the making.

80 years apart

Not all babies get to see their great grandmothers when they are born into this world. Iden is one of the privileged babies to see his great grandmothers, from both his papa's and mama's side. He has 4 great grandmothers, to be exact. The average age of his 4 great grandmothers is 80 years old. Some babies will be frightened when they see old people (probably because of their white hair). But not Iden. He is willing to be carried by his great grandmothers, and can even play with them.
I suppose the word 'generation gap' does not exist in Iden's world.

Teething

Iden has shown signs of teething for the past few months. His gums are swollen, he is drooling like nobody's business and he also likes to put whatever he is holding (toys, hands, etc) into his mouth. However, no matter he much he is salivating, his first tooth just refused to come out.
Then, last week, we noticed a tiny white dot on his lower gum. That is the sign of his 1st incisor. I was overjoyed and was waiting eagerly for the incisor to erupt fully.
Today, the tiny white dot has emerged and the incisor has cut through his gum. It is a tiny little tooth but portrays a great development in my baby's life.

Bumper Bed

Iden has been sleeping with his papa and mama since he was about 4 months old. He used to be a good sleeper, i.e., no tossing and turning during his sleep. However, as he grows older, he is becoming more active, even during his sleep. Both husband and I are his 'victims'. We would be slapped and kicked EVERY night. Can you imagine about 70% of a queen size bed being occupied by a little terror who is only 65 cm tall??? Poor daddy and mummy just have to curl up at the edge of the bed, sleeping cautiously and trying very hard not to fall over. Not only being 'tortured', Iden is a wonderful scene to watch when he sleeps. Why? Well, he turns 360 degrees and rolls from one end to another. His head will be at one end when he sleeps and at the other end of the bed when he wakes up. No kidding! Until yesterday, we decided that enough is enough. We need to get him a proper mattress and let him sleep alone. After looking high and low, ipapa managed to find a suitable bumper bed. We got it from Carrefour and it is perfect for our monster sleeper. Iden had his first sleep on the bumper bed yesterday. He loves it very much as he doesn't need to jostle with two giants every night now. What a relief, for us and for him!

ROM

The IT family is so tired, especially Iden. He just came back from his uncle's (ipapa's brother) ROM ceremony and dinner. The ROM was at 3.40 pm followed by a dinner at one of the Teochew restaurants at North Canal Road. Iden was dressed in strips earlier. WOW... I must admit that he looked damn cute in his romper and stylo too with his collar folded up! He was the centre of attraction and imama is so proud :-))
